Pupil and Family Support
At V.A.S.E. Academy, we understand that supporting pupils with SEND requires a comprehensive and collaborative approach. We are committed to ensuring your child feels safe, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. We recognise the importance of working closely with you, the parents and carers, as vital partners in this
journey.
Our team is dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where every pupil can thrive. We offer a wide range of support tailored to individual needs, focusing on building confidence, promoting positive behaviour, and fostering a love of learning. This includes consistent support with attendance and punctuality, boosting self-esteem, and developing positive attitudes towards education.
We are also here to support you, our parents and carers. We understand that navigating the complexities of SEND can be challenging, and we are committed to providing practical
assistance and guidance. Our support extends to:
- Information and signposting: we will connect you with relevant local services and resources.
- Liaison with external agencies: we will work alongside housing, social care, and other agencies to ensure seamless support.
- Paperwork assistance: we can help you complete forms related to housing, school placements, benefits, and more.
- Meeting support: we will attend and support you at school and external agency meetings.
- Behavioural guidance: we offer advice and support to promote positive behaviour at home.
- Personal development: we facilitate access to training and workshops within the school.
We believe in a team effort. Our Assistant Head Teacher and Behaviour Lead, Mr Ali, works closely with the Safeguarding team to ensure your child's wellbeing. Mr Hussain serves as our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), supported by Deputy DSL's, Miss Rigby and Mr Sallu.
Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo), Mrs Urban, is also available to provide expert support and guidance regarding your child's specific educational needs.
We are all here to listen and help.
